The name is derived from a project from long long ago called Radio Free Somethingrather, an internet talk radio show that was just as boring as it sounds. "Somethingrather" is a shortened eggcorn for "Something or other," meant to imply that it had no point. I didn't use an eggcorn in an attempt to be clever — I actually did misunderstand the words in that phrase. Of course, if I had done it correctly, the abbreviation would be VFSOO, which wouldn't be nearly as cool as VFS, now would it?
Unlike the previous iteration of VFS, which was directed and produced largely by me, VFS is now an open project. If you've got an idea, some video, or a fully produced short you'd like to include in VFS, please check out our contribute section. With your help, we can spread video nerdery across the internets. All of them.
